Description
Appealing petrol Camper with recent engine and gearbox rebuild showing
just 98k
Dating from October 1985 this Volkswagen
Transporter Motor Caravan is presented in light orange with hi-top permitting
one to stand inside the truck with sleeping quarters at each end and sits on its
original 14” steel wheels with polished hubcaps.
Power comes from a 1.9 litre four-cylinder petrol engine which
developed 78PS when it left the factory and comes with the five-speed dog-leg
manual transmission.
Inside, we find seating
for two up-front, rock ‘n’roll bed in the rear, sink, cooking hobs and water
tank along with the usual array of cupboards and storage
spaces.
The van comes to us in a usable
condition, looking solid underneath with some typical scabbing to various areas
on the body common to the model as pictured but started promptly and moved
around with ease having also been driven to the sale by the
vendor.
The history file includes the V5C
recording eight former keepers to the current of three years, the owner’s pack
with 3rd party service log including nine entries with dates,
information and mileage from 2007 at 90,997 miles to 2010 at 93,721 miles plus
an array of invoices for parts and works undertaken along with 11 old MOTs and
the current, valid until September 2023 which recorded two minor
advisories.
Recent works of note include a
gearbox strip and refurb costing £1400 in 2021, removal and rebuild of the
engine in September 2022 at 98,245 miles costing £2,319.
Ready to be enjoyed with scope for some refreshment, this Camper
has much to offer.
